{SAS}sy Blog Hop!

If my blog is the first place you have visited…welcome! To make sure you don’t miss out on any of the blogs in the {SAS}sy Blog Hop I suggest you start at the beginning by visiting at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking at http://www.scrapattackscrapbooking.blogspot.com/ and then work your way around the rest of the blogs.

Do you ever find a product that you just want to use on EVERYTHING?  For me it doesn't happen that often (well, aside from Glimmer Mist and inking!  lol) but when I got the Pink Paislee Starlight Element stickers it was love!  And the more I used them, the more I loved them!!!  There are just so many different shapes and styles you can use them over and over again.  AND...they have banners.  *swoon*  I LOVE banners!!!

Here are a few peeks of how I've been using this fantastic product.

This yellow circle boarder with white stars is so cute just the way it is!  However, because I can't leave well enough alone, I cut it in half and used it behind my title.

There are also several large brackets, which are just adorable!  And they're all glittery, but's it's not glitter that will fall off, oh the wonder!  hehe ;)

This was a GREAT shaped journaling block that I, once again, cut in half and used behind my title.  I'm all about cutting things in half...because it makes them go further!  (at least in my mind...)

And these glittery tickets I just LOVE!!!

Here's another one of those tickets, along with another journaling square that I used behind a title.

and last but certainly not least, those oh so fabulous banner stickers!!!  I just LOVE these things!  On this LO I inked the edges and then bent up the stickers a bit to give them some dimension.  They'd also be great to add a title too, or use with pop dots.  And there are lots of them!  I've still got more to play with!

Scrap Attack Scrapbooking will be donating prizes from all comments left on all participating blogs so make sure and comment so you are eligible to win! As a {BONUS} there is a hidden word on each blog that can be pieced together to make a familiar {SAS}sy phrase. If you can unscramble the words to make this phrase you could win a $50 gift certificate to the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking store. For more details on the prizes, please see the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking blog.

Here is your word: Scrapbooking

Hopefully you're enjoying the {SAS}sy Blog Hop this week. Your next stop on the blog hop is Adrienne! (you'll have to wait until the 16th for her post.  ;)

Road Trip!

Lest you think I've been doing nothing besides neglecting my little blog...how about a layout of my kiddos from last summer with some great goodies I got from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking?  Doesn't Kessa look so small?!?!

some of the Teresa Collin's Travel Ledger papers were perfect for this (and we all know that ANYTHING with the word "ledger" in it can make me swoon! he!)

The October Afternoon Thrift Shop stickers are WONDERFUL!!!  LUUUUUUUUUURRRRRVE them.  Love.  *sigh*

The muchkins just adore playing in the car.  It hasn't grown old in a year either.  They still ask to whenever we're stopped and waiting someplace.

Play a Song for Me...

My hubby is an amazing musician and I LOVE listening to him play guitar (and sing on the rare occasion I can talk him into it!)  He taught himself to play and he has a natural gift...so I guess Ezekiel got his love of music honestly.

This passion, even obsession started showing itself early on in his life.  We called Tim's amp turning on his "Zekiel call" because no matter where in the house he was or what he was doing, the minute he heard Tim start to play he's run for him, stand next the to speaker and "dance."  We're talking little tiny baby booty shaking, knees bouncing kinda dance.

And then he discovered iPods.  Oh, yes he did.  And it. was. love.

This is one of the layouts I did with my June goodies from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking.

The October Afternoon Thrift Shop (even the title makes my heart swoon!!!) word stickers had some PERFECT words.

I played around with a title for this for a while, when I first looked at the pictures Bob Dylan's "Tambourine Man" song immediately popped into my head.  I was toying with the idea of "Hey Mr. iPod Man" but that just was too cheesy.

I'm happy with what I finally settled one.  Right now I'm the playing songs for him (via speakers, I'm not musically inclined!  lol) but I will be VERY surprised if someday he's not the one playing a song for me.

You've Got a Friend in Me...

I'm not sure if it started when I saw a $5 Buzz plushie and bought it, or if it was when we ended up with Toy Story 2, or maybe it was the day Daddy showed us previews of Toy Story 3, but whenever it happened one thing is certain, the Toy Story phenomenon has hit the Johnson household.

When I came home with said Buzz for Zeke (because he's more of a Buzz than Woodie kinda guy...) I was promptly asked, "Where's Woodie?!"  (they go together you know!) So I agreed that, yes, they do go together and since I had Kohl's cash I agree we could get Woodie (BTW, you can't use Kohl's cash on any "Kohl's Cares" items...and Woodie was.)  So I dropped my $5 and bought a shirt and left.  However, Grandma was with us on this particular outing and she thought Kessa needed a Buzz and Woodie too (Thanks Grandma! ;) So I ran back in and bought them.

Anyway, that's how Buzz and Woodie (x2) came to live at our house.

Woodie is having a grand time...(along with Kessa in her new SLD inspired Toy Story dress made by her mommy)

but someone still always gets left out...

(notice who's inside watching by the window...)

There are some seriously amazing examples on all the blogs made with the new Art Stencils (and a chance to win the whole set!)

Just Another Week...

When I saw the challenge to do a LO about a week in your life over at Noel Mignon I thought it was the just push I needed.  I'd been wanting to do this for a while and this seemed like a good way to get a brief version down.

I used my lovely Layers of Color stamps for most of my accents,

and I love them because they make me feel like maybe I *could* be a stamper...
somewhere...somehow.

I LOVE this one as the bottom of a frame.

Train Well

Do you ever seen an every-day moment and know in a second that it has to be captured and what words to capture it with?

That's what happened to me when I saw my son outside with a "sword" on his horse, off to fight evil.  Earlier the same day I had read this quote (sadly, I can't remember where!), "I had rather see coming toward me a whole regime with swords raised than one loan Calvinist convinced he is doing the will of God."

That's my prayer for him.  That he will be dangerous for God.  That all this time in childhood, playing, pretending, fighting and imagining, will prepare him for whatever work God calls him into.

I pray that his confidence will be in the Lord and in HIS mighty power knowing that God will accomplish His good pleasure...and that He will use us as His means to do that.

On a crafty note - these are the October Afternoon Thrift Shop papers that I've been DYING to play with.  Lauri at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking sent them to me in my DT pack this month and I'm in heaven!

This LO was done for the Croppy Cat Challenge example this month...it's lifted from this LO by Mette.

Full of Fun June!

I have a few fun things to share with you today!  I've been waiting for this day (June 1st!) for a while so I could share my news.

First off...I'm am SOO excited and honored to be Guest Designing for Layers of Color this month.  Laura, the owner contacted a while back and asked if I would be interested in designing for them this month...and I have to tell you...I did a lot of searching around their site and I fell in love.  Not just with the products (stamps, digital images...and being released this month...art stencils!) but with the mission behind the business.  Laura and the rest of the people working for and with Layers of Color desire to honor and glorify Christ in all they do, from their artwork to their business dealings.  THAT is what really got me interested.

Here's a peek of the first LO I've done with some of the great stamps I got,

You can see the rest of it on the this Layers of Color blog post.

Second,  if you check out the June CardMaps at

PageMaps you'll see a card by me!  (also featuring a Layers of Color stamp!)

CASE'in

What's a "CASE" you ask?  In my little scrappy corner of the world it means "copy and share everything" and that's exactly what I did for this LO!

Over at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking we're having a fun SSU (SASsy Scrapbook University).  The classes are on defining your style and one of the assignments was to scrap-lift (or CASE) a LO that you had chosen in a previous class.  Well I chose this BEAUTIFUL LO by Mette:

I used a lot of the exact same products Mette used, but I was out of white cardstock, so I used a light gray color for my background.

The pictures are of my oldest on the 4-wheeler with my hubby...she was NOT a fan.

'

and but sure to stop back by tomorrow evening as I have lot of fun things to share!!!  :)

Patternless and Free!

Yup, that's right, I made my first "patternless" dress and I love the way it turned out!  When I say "patternless" I don't mean I just started chopping up my material and hoping for the best.  I had a dress from The Children's Place I really liked so I just used it to make my own pattern.  I pretty much just did it, but if you're not comfortable with that Dana over at Made has a great tutorial on making your own patterns.

I was also inspired by Sheri, of Soren Lorensen Design, to make the pocket and hood patchwork.

and a bunch more photos...because she's just so darn cute!

and some of the hood....

and a few more...because I really do exist!  ;)

The Johnson Girls!  :)

(and I promise...more scrappy stuff coming VERY soon!!! I don't just sew.  lol )

Growing Up

That's what Grace is doing on me.  It seems like it's all happened overnight.  I walked into her room Sunday afternoon and instead of finding my sweet baby laying down sleeping with her kitty...

I found this....

one big girl standing up in her crib...

and looking VERY proud of herself!

and that has just opened up a whole can of worms at naptime too I might add!  lol

I'm off to finish getting everything together...because my sweet Sister-in-Law asked me if I wanted the day off tomorrow (ie...she's watching ALL three of my children!)  Thank you Michelle!!!

Swagger Wagon Addict

If you remember a few days ago I posted this video that had me quite amused.  This morning when the hubs was at the computer Kessa went up to him and asked if she could watch "Where My Kids At?"  We both thought that was rather funny as she's seen it maybe twice before...so he played it for her...and then she wanted to watch it again...and again...and then for the rest of the day I was cracking up as I kept hearing this:  (sorry it's sideways, today's the first day I've even been able to get videos OFF my camera so I'll take what I can get!  lol)

(and I do have lots of sewing and scrappy stuff to share, but it's going to have to wait!  Night night.  :)

Lovin' the Sass'

A few weeks ago for the National Scrapbooking Day celebration there was a crop at SAS (Scrap Attack Scrapbooking) and on for one of the challenges we had to answer some questions (like what shapes we liked using, how many pictures, etc) and then we had to do a LO based on the answers of the person before us.  The ever sweet Sherri was before me and I got to use her answers.

Umm...have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE the Sassafras Monstrosities line?  So so cute!!!!

and goodness, doesn't the little dude look LITTLE?!  These pictures are from last summer.

Sweet, Girly, {SAS}sy!

Scrap Attack Scrapbooking always seems to put together an amazing kit, but this month was different.  This month, Lauri put together TWO amazing kits!!!  Wanna see them?

The first one features Scrap Within Reach's Cambridge line as well as a lot of other yummies!

and second kit I had the pleasure of working with.  It features Crate Paper's Pink Plum line and is SOOO girly and pretty and fun!  I did manage to squeak out one boy LO with this kit too!  :)

and here's what I did with it:

(this LO is still waiting on pictures of me.  There is hidden journaling tucked behind the photo mat)

and I've still got more left!!!  This is one packed full kit and so fun too!  :)
