Some LOs and a Toot

Hey everyone!!! I got an exciting e-mail last night!!!!! Remember that mini album I did for the Lily Bee contest? Well I won 3rd place!!!! And I think that maybe even better than that is the fact that I won 3rd...and my scrappy girl-crush Virgina won 1st!!!! To be considered even that close to as good as her...WOW!!!!!! And here are some of the LOs I've done with this month's kit from Color Me Daisy.



I used yellow glimmer mist for the edges of Venturing Out and the punch on the black paper is EK Success Parisian.


Lots of masking here. I used grungeboard flowers from the kit to do the flowers at the bottom...and YUM!!!! I'm LOVING all the Jenni Bowlin stuff in this month's kit!!!

Mismatched Meditations On Me

** this is a long photo heavy post!**

So if you'll remember last month (April) we got to play with the lovely Lily Bee Design papers as part of our Color Me Daisy kit...well low and behold Lily Bee is having a mini album contest! I had so much fun using them in the kit I decided I needed to get some more and make a mini album...I mean these papers (French Couture) are soo my style! Aged, worn, but still bright and colorful...Love them! I decided to just make my own mismatched mini album and utalize both sides of this lovely paper rather than using a pre-made album. When I was done I just used my Bind it All to finish it up!

Meditations On Me:

I cut one of the mini die cut papers and then stitched around it to make the "grid" pattern on the front cover.

Mundane Love:
Some random and possibly boring things about me...
1. I could eat Orange Julius made with Sucanat everyday...(yes I have been called a health food geek before...)
2. I have read Jane Eyre no less than 5 times (could be more) and will be reading it again...soon.
3. I (heart) me some old junk!!! (but we'll call it "vintage" to make it sound cooler!)


4. I am totally and completely ADDICTED to scrapbooking!
And the little hearts pull out to reveal some hidden journaling.

{Confession}
~I'm selfish. I know it's one of my biggest sins.
~ Sometimes I wonder if I would be a better mother if I didn't scrapbook...I think maybe I should pack it all up and say goodbye until you're all grown...but I don't.
~I sometimes buy candy and then hide it so I don't have to share. (told you I was selfish!)
~I really love using cloth diapers and I don't even mind washing them out...I just REALLY wish Kessa would at least TRY to use the potty!!!
~Sometimes I have junk food for lunch after the littles are down for their naps.
~ I get rather offended when people assume my children were born well behaved and write off how much hard work went into it.


I made the ruffles and the "bow" that I tied through the button out of Lily Bee papers.
I used a MM template to make this envelope.
When I first started thinking about doing a mini around the theme "Just Be Me" I had a million and one ideas running through my head...and then, at some point, I realized I had so many ideas because I knew who I was!! Ten years ago I couldn't have said that...I hated who I was...even though I wasn't sure who that was! God rescued me from that and over the past ten years He has taught me to joyfully find my identity in Him. In the unique person He created me as, from the things I love, to my failures, to the people in my life He has blessed me with. I praise God for opening my eyes to His thousands upon ten thousand blessings in my life and allowing me to say "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, Your works are wonderful, I know that full well." 05.29.09


I truly wouldn't be the person I am without the special people in my life...
and yes, that's a picture of baby Grace's foot in the lower left corner...all the ultrasound pictures of her face were too big! lol

Playtime Fun

So I had sooo much fun playing with the June kit from Scrap-Tastic (which is very appropriately named, Playtime Fun!) I just thought I'd drop in and share the rest of the LOs and cards (yes, I made cards!!!) that I made using it.
Honestly when I got my package and saw these little felt birds (they're part of this month's Kit Members Related Product Special) I thought, "Those are SOOO cute, but I have NO IDEA how I'll use them!" I'm totally not usually a bird person, but they just sorta fell together perfectly with this LO, didn't even plan it, they just showed up! lol. Zeke is in that picture too, he's just hard to see, Tim is carrying him.


Some simple little cards I made using up scraps...this kit was totally diverse in what styles you could come up with!
and finally a girly LO...of my Beautiful Girl. I cut the Bazzill scalloped paper and then used it half and half. The tiny pictures are from the index print that came with the order of pictures and um...I totally LOVE Prima burlap!!! (it's layered behind the picture.)

Happy Memorial Day!

Hi everyone...just popping in to say Happy Memorial Day!!! Thank you to all those who have, are or will serve our country. God bless you.

I just love this picture of Zeke! I used some scrap paper from the May kit that I had punch circles out of as a mask and then sprayed orange Maya Mist to make the bg paper. There is journaling on the arrow and then of course lots of inking and distressing!
and a sweet LO of my hubby and son cuddling...and I have to confess this is the first time I have ever used flowers on a "guy" lo!!!

Crop-a-Thon

I've been having a blast the past few days playing along with the Valentine Crop-a-ton over at Noel Mignon the past few days. I figured it was probably about time to upload some creations and show you all the fun I've been having with the challenges these amazingly talented ladies are hosting!
This LO I'm going to frame and put in my DH's office. The letters are one's I wrote him when we were engaged counting down the days until we were married...and now we've been married 2015 days! :) And a close up of the journaling block...it's clickable if you've got that much time and want to read it! lol
Some cute and simple cards...I think I'm going to send the first one to my BFF if I can find an envelope that it will fit in! lol...
And this one just MIGHT be fore my DD. ;)
and last but not least, Virgina gave a tutorial here on this sooo cute banner!!! It's above our living room door right now but I'm going to move it into DH and I's bedroom. :)

Christmas Mini Revisited

Woohoo!!! I beat Blogger! lol....I tried added the pics to Blogger as a URL from another site rather than uploading them directly from my computer and it didn't turn them sideways like it was before! :D Yea!!!! Soo....that all said, here are the cover and missing pages from my Christmas Mini album! TFL.

Christmas Mini

Hey look! I'm not dead! lol...I just haven't had anything blog-worthy happening at all!!!

However, last night I got to play with my Pink Paislee Tinsel Town stuff...and wow...I still love it as much as I did when I bought it! lol. I used my pictures from Christmas morning here at the Johnson house and made up this little mini. Originally I had a tin I was going to alter to match it and store it in, but once I was done with the album I realized it was too fat to fit in the tin! lol. (as always you can click any of the pics to see them bigger or read the journaling.)
(this LO, the one above, cracks me up, because for the first time I can see why people ask me if Kessa and Zeke are twins! lol)
Ok so this is only half of it...and not even the front cover, but everytime I upload the pictures Blogger turns them sideways!!!!!!!!! Anyone know how to fix that?

December Daily

So I finished it! Here's the front view...

And an over-view of the inside pages....if I'm on top of things I'll post a before and after pic of each page during December when I get it done. :) (and let's just say that the 2 inch rings Ali used/recommended would NOT be big enough for this...these are 3 inch rings and they're too little...the price I pay for loving junked up pages! ;)

and for good measure...I LO I did Saturday night. I used one of Deb's great sketches from AllyScraps and this picture was take Saturday at the park...love it. DS is a big kid, but he looks so small with DH. :D I LOVE seeing DH with our kids...melts my heart.

5 Years Ago...

I married the greatest guy in the world! (well since its now 12:06 am on the 9th I guess technically it was 5 years and a day...)

5 Reasons I Love Timothy:

1. He plays guitar (electric) (yes, my kids are going to be rock stars)
2. He is not afraid to be a dork with me
3. He's not ashamed to kiss "Gabby" and play tea party
4. He always wants to learn more and test everything he's been taught against God's word to confirm that it lines up
5. He still thinks I'm hot!

Aaaawwwwwww

Just wanted to let you guys all in on a little secret...my husband is the sweetest guy around!!!! (really, I'm not just saying that...) Case in point...I called him the other day when I was around and what do I hear? This song.



Yea, when I call him, his phone starts in at the chorus of this song..."You're the girl of my dreams.." and so...I fell for him ALL OVER AGAIN...just like I do EVERY day!!!!

(on a side note, this is a REALLY great album, if you've never heard it you should check it out. Dustin Kensrue is the lead singer for Thrice, but this solo album is amazing, very mellow and folkish.)

My Husband is the Greatest!!!!

Because he does sweet little things at unexpected times that make my day!!! Like today after all the fussing and whining that started my day I looked at my phone to see what time it was and instead of the rather bad picture of Kessa I see some blurs...and then the blurs start to move...I watch in fasination (at first I though the camera was on and it was my fingers or something!) and as I'm watching I see a pen...and then some letters...and right there before my eyes the words I LOVE YOU appear!!!! That's right, Tim apparently highjacked my phone sometime and recorded himself writing I Love You and put it as the background on my phone!!! He's so wonderful!!! So...since I couldn't get a decent shot of that, I'll leave you with a picture of him doing something similar shortly after we got married. :D
