Croppin' Good Time

This past weekend I did some of the challenges for the Swing Into Spring crop over at Noel Mignon.  I love cropping with them.  It's always so laid back and just tons of fun!!!

This LO was a "cardstock only" challenge (no patterened paper, but we could use other embellies.)

These pictures were taken just the other day of Kessa.  I'm so glad she's getting over her "You can't take my picture!" phase!  lol  I think pretty much everything on this LO is from the Color Me Daisy Change of Heart kit (it's on sale for only $25.00 right now...that's a GREAT deal!!!)

The Core Impressions Jenni Bowlin cardstock from Core'dinations made this cardstock only LO really easy for me...and that's saying a lot because I love me some patterened paper!  lol

This one is simply for me but I really like the way it turned out.  I used my Martha Double Loop punch as a mask on the edge of this page and stamped on my naked chipboard letters with a houndstooth stamp from OA.  It's fast becoming one of my favorites!

So...here's the whole, simple LO.    I used a really light gray background and then spritzed it with Midnight Blue Glimmer Mist.

isn't my baby girl just too cute with that crooked little smile?!?

We Will...

The kids and I have been learning a lot about love lately
.  We've been reading 1 Corinthians 13 a lot before bed.    It's more for me than them I'm sure, but it's also great to have scripture to point them to when training them in how to treat others.  Anyway, I wanted to make a new wreath for Valentine's day (you can see one I made last summer here.)

I used the "Change of Heart" kit (which is on sale right now!!)

The wreath was like $3 at Wal-Mart.

I used my SU Heart Punch and Martha Stewart Butterfly one too (umm...yea, I'm totally addicted to those!) For all the words in my handwriting I used my VersaMark pen and then sprinkled EP over it and heat set it.  I also used spray adhesive on the "love" and coated it with red glitter...nothing says love like glitter!  ;)

Love that Blackmagic Coredinations cardstock!!!  I used my glue pen to trace over the designs on the MME paper and added glitter to it too.

Imagination

How about a LO with the fabulous "Change of Heart" kit from Color Me Daisy?

I've been holding onto this picture of Zeke for a few months...every time I started to scrap it it just wasn't working for me...but I do like how it turned out this time!

for some added texture and interest I pulled out my houndstooth stamp (October Afternoon) and my black embossing powder and did some tone on tone embossing on my black cardstock.  I love the way it turned out!

This Maya Road chipboard in the kit was begging for some glimmer mist and I was more than happy to oblige!  I used some red glimmer mist on it, then stamped with VersaMark and embossed with clear embossing powder (houndstooth stamp again) and THEN I rubbed it all with brown ink.  Where the clear EP is the ink doesn't adhere.  This is the resist technique...but then you already knew how to do that did you?  It's pretty old hat!  :)

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to stop by CMD on the 10th as we're having an "Organize Your Heart" crop to say farewell in style!

Homeless and Unemployed

That's how I feel right now.  And that's what I'll be effective Feb. 28th.  See... I have been thinking over time commitments for a long time and the beginning of last month I finally bit the bullet and sent in my resignation to Scrap-Tastic.  It's been a FANTASTIC place to be, Becky is so amazing to work for, but it just felt like the right time.

THEN two other sites I'm pretty fond of had DT calls and I convinced myself not to try out.  I just wanted to stick with my beloved CMD for a while and work on other things.  And then....then this happened.

Michelle is being VERY wise and she is choosing the BEST thing she could...but it means an end to the Color Me Daisy DT which has grown to be a big part of my life and I'm really going to miss it!

That said, this month's kit (and add ons!!) is amazing!!!!  Here's the kit:

and I'll be back tomorrow with some of my LOs.

4-Ever

That's about how long I've been holding onto this picture of my sweet boy waiting for the "perfect" supplies to scrap it with.

Most of the papers I got in the Cherry Chocolate Cordial kit just screamed "girly" to me, but this great Lifestories paper by My Mind's Eye and the Pink Paislee paper just needed a little boost of color to be the "perfect" supplies I was waiting for.

I gave it that little boost by adding the Fancy Pants paper and Thickers from my stash, as well as some Glimmer Mist.

I used my Dymo to make the strips I added to the squares on the "side" (my top) of the MME paper.

I did a little bit of doodling, but I wanted the stars to be understated and even almost camouflaged in some areas so I just left them alone, no doodling, no inking, nothing.  Very weird for me!

Chocolate Cherry Cordial

The February kit, Chocolate Cherry Cordial, is up at Scrap-Tastic!  This kit was so much fun.  It's chalk full of one of my favorite things....KRAFT!  Plus, there's Jenni Bowlin.  Yup, I had fun!

Here's one of the LOs and a few cards I've made so far with this kit.

This is a lot more simple than I usually go...but I'm still ok with it.  Not one that I'm going to go enter in any contest or anything, but I do so LOVE this photo of Kessa.

I used an EK Success Bracket boarder punch for the boarders on this one.

A Pagemaps card map was my starting point for this one...and I really like the results!  I'm thinking from now on if I need to make a card this is going to be where I start.  The sentiment is from the Pink Paislee Pop Fashion stamp set.

Be Still My Heart

Soo...at Color Me Daisy we design every other month.  February is not my month, so I'm speaking as a customer, not a designer.

You NEED this kit.  I bought the kit, plus umm...like almost every add on I think!!!  It's amazing!!!  I can't wait to get it and start playing!

The full reveal isn't yet, so I'll just leave you with these sneaks...and trust me...this is a PACKED kit.  Retail value for everything in it is much higher than you'll pay if you buy this kit!

how's that for a little tease?

Sew Enchanting

Splitcoast Stampers (which was my very first experience with the wonderful world of on-line scrapping and forums!) had a Virtual Scrapbooking Night this past weekend.  They're always a lot of fun and the gals that put it together did a great job!

One of the challenges I participated in was a scraplift.  I chose this super cute page by Erika. However, as is par for the course, mine didn't end up looking very much like hers!  lol

I pulled out my Midnight Glimmer Mist and used my SU heart punch to make some masks for the background.

This stamp is one I got in the $ bins at Michael's.  Most of the papers and little bits are from the Homemade Treats kit from Color Me Daisy.

  • I also cut up one of the WRMK's Twirl strips (it said "aren't you just the sweetest thing?") and used some of it for part of my title.  I finished off the page with some doodling and stitching.

Wrapping Up

Yup, I've got lots of things to wrap up.

First off is the last LO I've done (so far!) with the oh so yummy Homemade Treats kit from Color Me Daisy.

I used more of the old pictures I found of Kessa.  The tiny ones were taken on the morning of her 1st birthday!  I can't believe how much she's changed.  The large one was just a few days later.

I used some Fancy Pants stamps that I got for Christmas to make the butterfly, then I cut it out, brushed it with Star Dust Stickles and popped it up around the "girls" (and of course distressed it, because I can't NOT distress stuff!)

I also used my Stampin Up Hearts punch and Curly Label punch.

Next...it's probably about time for the 3rd (and FINAL!) installment of my "favorite" photos of 2009 by month.  I use the term "favorite" here VERY loosely!  lol

October

November

(hehehe...I just love this one.  Kessa is wearing Zeke's pj's..plus this was at like 10 o'clock one night.  I went in to make sure they were covered up and discovered her in Zeke's bed both snoozin' away.  I LOVE that they're such good friends!)

December

(I know you just saw this, but hey, it's one of my faves!)

and...

he's so cute!

and would you believe...the whole month of December and not ONE good picture of Kessa?

Up tomorrow...a final wrap up of 2009 with my Favorite LOs.

Some More Homemade Treats

Some more LOs using the Color Me Daisy Homemade Treats kit.

This LO is sooo different for me.  I really like the pennants...but the rest of it is still up in the air in my opinion.  (I LOVE LOVE LOVE the expression on the bottom right picture though, isn't it just priceless?!  lol)

The Thickers are an add on from a previous month.

and this is my example for my January Challenge to "Beat the Winter Blues."

and I've still got another LO with this kit waiting to be uploaded...however the weather isn't cooperating with me getting a good picture of it!

Copycat

Yup, I'm not gonna lie.  I'm a copycat.  When I see a good idea I just have to try it for myself.

A while back I got a set of 5 pairs of BabyLegs on BabySteals...however neither of my girls had anything to match one of the pairs, so when I saw the onesie Virginia made for Arianna I knew that was the way to go for these BabyLegs too..and then low and behold the Holiday Hangover kit matched them perfectly!

So I got out my needle and thread and set to work.

(these were just taken today...isn't my girl such a cute chub?!?! )

Holiday Hangover

Yup, that's what a lot of us have isn't it?  It's also the name of the January kit at Scrap-Tastic.  It's got lots of bright and colorful goodies in it to help you over even the worst Holiday Hangover.

*On a side note, I know this is a bit of a "scrappy" blog that has been rather scrapless lately but fear not, I've been working on that and have lots to show you over the next few day and lots more to do to!*

Here are a few of the things I've done with the kit so far.

I made some "thank you" bag toppers for the workers in my daughter "Cubbie" class...there are 7 workers!  However, there are 45 to 50 preschoolers every wednesday night so they deserve a lot more than a little "Thank you!"  The stamps are by Stampin' Up.

and this is a 2 pager (but only 8x8) that I did for a circle journal about favorite Christmas memories.  I just LOVE stockings...they're so much a part of Christmas for me.  I loosely based this on a sketch by Julie Bonner.

(Virginia taught me how to make those super cute Christmas trees!)

And just a simple little page with a quote I adore about good books.

(I'm totally addicted to these tiny alphas!)

Vanilla Frosting

Yup, not gonna lie. I'm a vanilla girl. Always have been, always will be. So obviously this kit was totally for me! This is the first time I've worked with any Webster's Pages products and let me tell you what...WOW! Umm...yea, love them. Like, drooling love them. LURVE. (as a certain home decor blogger likes to say.)

So, enough about how much I LOVED the papers...wanna see the rest of the kit?
Yup, it's pretty yummy!!! I've got one project I'm still working on that my whole family is excited about, but for now, how about some cards? (I am SOOO not a card maker, so just smile and nod and pretend like you love them!)

(In case you couldn't tell, I'm rather addicted to my new Stampin Up "Modern Label" punch these days..)

and a little 2 pager I did for a circle journal about my "style."

(isn't that lamp post just amazing?!?!)

Enough for today..but I do have more to share!

Twins....or not?

I've had this LO in my mind for quite a while...I was just waiting for the perfect pictures. And I may do another one when i get the perfect pictures with them FACING the camera too! lol.

Anyway...people are CONSTANTLY asking if Kessa and Zeke are twins. I bet 9 times out of 10 when we go out we're asked at least once if they're twins. It's such a common occurance I knew it needed to be documents. I mean...it PROBABLY won't be like that forever! lol (although who knows!)

A few weeks ago I was at the grocery store with all three of the kids and Zeke and Kessa were both riding in the back of the cart. While we were standing in line a woman asked if they were twins and I laughed and said no. Her response was..."oook..." (and you totally have to get this really sarcastic voice when you read that.) I'm PRETTY SURE she thought I was LYING to her!!!! lol!!!

I used Julie's exclusive CMD sketch and the November Autumn Splendor kit for this LO. By sure to check it out and play along for your chance at some prizes! :)
