4-Ever

That's about how long I've been holding onto this picture of my sweet boy waiting for the "perfect" supplies to scrap it with.

Most of the papers I got in the Cherry Chocolate Cordial kit just screamed "girly" to me, but this great Lifestories paper by My Mind's Eye and the Pink Paislee paper just needed a little boost of color to be the "perfect" supplies I was waiting for.

I gave it that little boost by adding the Fancy Pants paper and Thickers from my stash, as well as some Glimmer Mist.

I used my Dymo to make the strips I added to the squares on the "side" (my top) of the MME paper.

I did a little bit of doodling, but I wanted the stars to be understated and even almost camouflaged in some areas so I just left them alone, no doodling, no inking, nothing.  Very weird for me!

Love

There is something special and compelling about this photo.  It speaks volumes to me and although it's small I wanted it to be the focus.

It seems so simple, so sweet, so girly.  All things I want her childhood to be.

To add a little something extra to the hearts I used a paintbrush to apply a thin layer of silver perfect pearls to hearts (made with a SU heart punch.)

Everything but the background cardstock and the red pearls are from the Cherry Chocolate Cordial kit.

Chocolate Cherry Cordial

The February kit, Chocolate Cherry Cordial, is up at Scrap-Tastic!  This kit was so much fun.  It's chalk full of one of my favorite things....KRAFT!  Plus, there's Jenni Bowlin.  Yup, I had fun!

Here's one of the LOs and a few cards I've made so far with this kit.

This is a lot more simple than I usually go...but I'm still ok with it.  Not one that I'm going to go enter in any contest or anything, but I do so LOVE this photo of Kessa.

I used an EK Success Bracket boarder punch for the boarders on this one.

A Pagemaps card map was my starting point for this one...and I really like the results!  I'm thinking from now on if I need to make a card this is going to be where I start.  The sentiment is from the Pink Paislee Pop Fashion stamp set.

Holiday Hangover

Yup, that's what a lot of us have isn't it?  It's also the name of the January kit at Scrap-Tastic.  It's got lots of bright and colorful goodies in it to help you over even the worst Holiday Hangover.

*On a side note, I know this is a bit of a "scrappy" blog that has been rather scrapless lately but fear not, I've been working on that and have lots to show you over the next few day and lots more to do to!*

Here are a few of the things I've done with the kit so far.

I made some "thank you" bag toppers for the workers in my daughter "Cubbie" class...there are 7 workers!  However, there are 45 to 50 preschoolers every wednesday night so they deserve a lot more than a little "Thank you!"  The stamps are by Stampin' Up.

and this is a 2 pager (but only 8x8) that I did for a circle journal about favorite Christmas memories.  I just LOVE stockings...they're so much a part of Christmas for me.  I loosely based this on a sketch by Julie Bonner.

(Virginia taught me how to make those super cute Christmas trees!)

And just a simple little page with a quote I adore about good books.

(I'm totally addicted to these tiny alphas!)

A Little Glimmer

Glimmer Mist that is.  If you've hung around here for long you know that I just LOVE me some Glimmer Mist.  (I'll even go so far as to say I like it WAAAAAAAAY better than Maya Mist.)

It's the perfect touch for so many different things.  Anyway, I thought because I love it so much I'd let you in on a little secret.

You can get some FREE.

Yup, I said FREE!!!  Becky over at Scrap-Tastic is having a sale (it ends on the 29th!) and you get a free bottle of Glimmer Mist when you buy two...or TWO free bottles when you buy three...or THREE free bottles when you buy four!!!!!!!

I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about buying her out!  lol.  All you have to do is add what colors of Glimmer mist you'd  in the comments when you order.  SO there ya go, Merry Christmas to you!!!!

Also, I just found this...did you know that you can go here and Tattered Angels has a "matching" service?  You pick out the paper you're using and they'll tell you which Glimmer Mist which looks the best!

Dreaming...

What is it about sleeping children that just gets us?
It doesn't matter what they've done...what has happened...how often they've been in trouble...or even how much of a failure they've caused us to feel like, when we see them sleeping we just melt.

We melt, and I know that I for one and ALWAYS reminded of how very blessed I am to have them.

Vanilla Frosting

Yup, not gonna lie. I'm a vanilla girl. Always have been, always will be. So obviously this kit was totally for me! This is the first time I've worked with any Webster's Pages products and let me tell you what...WOW! Umm...yea, love them. Like, drooling love them. LURVE. (as a certain home decor blogger likes to say.)

So, enough about how much I LOVED the papers...wanna see the rest of the kit?
Yup, it's pretty yummy!!! I've got one project I'm still working on that my whole family is excited about, but for now, how about some cards? (I am SOOO not a card maker, so just smile and nod and pretend like you love them!)

(In case you couldn't tell, I'm rather addicted to my new Stampin Up "Modern Label" punch these days..)

and a little 2 pager I did for a circle journal about my "style."

(isn't that lamp post just amazing?!?!)

Enough for today..but I do have more to share!

The List

If you remember this post I gave you a little sneak of this LO that I made with the Scrap-Tastic Flirtatious kit (and there are only 1 or 2 left I think!) and I also linked up my inspiration for making this list.

The black and white card is actually an Urban Lily Secret Keeper that I'm planning on jotting notes in as I mark things off my list.

So what's on my list you ask? here it is!

27 Things to do Before I'm 27

1. Memorize a new Bible verse each week.
2. Start hiking with the kids (we've already been twice since I made this LO!)
3. Run a half marathon.
4. Go outside everyday.
5. Get (and use! lol) a bike trailer. (not sure how this will work with 3...but I'll figure something out. *snicker*)
6. Lose baby weight and then some.
7. Go on a scrap retreat weekend.
8. Plant a garden.
9. Spend less time on the computer. (I think I'm already doing better with this one!)
10. Know God better by studying His Word more deeply.
11. Monthly "dates" with each child (well...just the two older ones for now.)
12. Weekends away with Tim.
13. Redecorate/paint/move kids rooms (partially done...half to wait till Grace is older to finish.)
14. Be more BOLD.
15. Get ears pierced.
16. Go rock climbing.
17. Go to Garden of the Gods.
18. Have a birthday party.
19. Learn more about prayer.
20. Foster a love of the outdoors in the kids.
21. Make our home a fun place to be.
22. Write love notes.
23. Call an old friend. (done!)
24. Write letters.
25. Enjoy my kids toddlerhood...without stressing over stuff as much!
26. Try new recipes.
and finally...
27. Run a faster mile.

Flirtatious

l
Just popping in to share the Nov. Scrap-Tastic kit. The Flirtatious kit is so full of bright fun papers and embellies! I really love the trim in this kit, it's great!

And here are some of the things I made this month...

I was loving my glimmer mist this month...and of course more distressing because..well...it's like an illness... I can't NOT distress! lol

Aren't the Prima leaves just too cute?!?!

I {heart} Lists

Well if you've been around me much at all you know that I LOVE lists. I love lists and I REALLY love marking things off lists. I'm one of Those People who write things down on their lists that they've already done just so they can mark them off!

So obviously when I saw this great post over on Whatever, which was inspired by Michelle's list, which was inspired by the always fantastic list maker over at Hula Seventy, I KNEW I had to make one!!!

Wanna sneak? I can only give you a sneak though because I'm using my brand spanking new Scrap-Tastic kit for this particular list/LO and it's not available yet...but oh there are some great colors! (and if you're doing the math I decided to give myself until my 27th birthday since there were things I wanted on my list that had to be done in the summer and I'll be 26 in Feb!)

Summer Heat

Just thought I'd pop in and share some Summer Heat. The August kit is up over at Scrap-Tastic and I had so much fun playing with it!!!! Totally fab. PLUS this month there is an add on kit!!! Can you say Hambly? It's totally fab!!!

Here are just a few of the LOs I did this month.
These are some ultrasound pictures of Grace taken about two and half weeks ago. I plan to add some hidden journaling under the pictures. The stamps are from the Boutique Grunge set by Inque Boutique. I just love the way this hanging LO turned out. I saw someone do something kinda of like this and when I saw this Prima die cut paper in the kit I knew it was meant to be! I added a strip of CS all the way across the back for some added stability.
I'm totally loving paint lately and this LO was no exception! My little guy just melts my heart...he's a totally cutie and when I saw that I had gotten such a great "splash" shot I knew it needed it's own LO.

Now, don't hurt me, but I'm going to be honest. I got this Lime Rickey paper last month in my Color Me Daisy kit...and then again this month in the Scrap-Tastic kit...and I hate it. I really do. So I challenged myself to use it anyway this month (last month I cut one bird from the whole sheet and called it done! lol) And ya know what? It's not so bad on this lo! lol

Happy Weekend (even though it's half over! lol) We'll be celebrating Kessa's birthday with my family tomorrow...and she'll REALLY be three on Monday. *sigh* I can't believe she's that old!!!

I've not been Idle...

I know I've been MIA again for a while but I haven't been idle in the scrappy world...I just can't share most of what I've been doing yet because it's for the August Scrap-Tastic kit called Summer Heat.

I've been having SOOO much fun with this kit (and the member perks this month are AWESOME too!!!) Anyway, I've been having too much fun to keep it all to myself so I thought I'd drop by and tease you with some sneaks!

I cannot WAIT to share the LO below with you all. I just LOVE the way it turned out!!!!!!!

Happy 4th!!!

I hope you all had a great 4th of July and did a lot of relaxing!!!

We had a very lazy day around here...it was very nice. It ended up raining most of the day so we just stayed home and hung out together (when Tim or I wasn't sleeping! lol he slept most of the morning and I napped a good part of the afternoon...it was wonderful!)

Anyway I just thought I'd pop in and share a few more LOs I've done lately.

I used Scrap-Tastic's July kit, Hello Sunshine for this LO of my DD in her way too cute Baby Legs.
This one I used mainly using left overs from S-T's Velvet Room kit. I spritzed the bg with pink bubblegum Glimmer Mist first and then layered the lace cs over it. This kit was chalk full of amazing new Prima and other beautiful goodies and there are still a few available if you're interested!

Playtime Fun

So I had sooo much fun playing with the June kit from Scrap-Tastic (which is very appropriately named, Playtime Fun!) I just thought I'd drop in and share the rest of the LOs and cards (yes, I made cards!!!) that I made using it.
Honestly when I got my package and saw these little felt birds (they're part of this month's Kit Members Related Product Special) I thought, "Those are SOOO cute, but I have NO IDEA how I'll use them!" I'm totally not usually a bird person, but they just sorta fell together perfectly with this LO, didn't even plan it, they just showed up! lol. Zeke is in that picture too, he's just hard to see, Tim is carrying him.

Some simple little cards I made using up scraps...this kit was totally diverse in what styles you could come up with!
and finally a girly LO...of my Beautiful Girl. I cut the Bazzill scalloped paper and then used it half and half. The tiny pictures are from the index print that came with the order of pictures and um...I totally LOVE Prima burlap!!! (it's layered behind the picture.)

Happy Memorial Day!

Hi everyone...just popping in to say Happy Memorial Day!!! Thank you to all those who have, are or will serve our country. God bless you.

And because we have to have pictures...a few more LOs with the Playtime Fun kit from Scrap-tastic.

I just love this picture of Zeke! I used some scrap paper from the May kit that I had punch circles out of as a mask and then sprayed orange Maya Mist to make the bg paper. There is journaling on the arrow and then of course lots of inking and distressing!
and a sweet LO of my hubby and son cuddling...and I have to confess this is the first time I have ever used flowers on a "guy" lo!!!

Layout Love

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great Memorial Day weekend!!! I just thought I'd pop in and share a few Scrap-tastic June LOs with you.

Ok, well...thanks to blogger and it's weird quirks apparently you'll just be enjoying ONE LO tonight instead of two!. These are pictures of my DS and my brother that were taken on Mother's day...and the background cardstock is orange Bazzill Bling, I'm not sure why it photographed so weird!

Nasal Talking and Some Sneaks

Well I know, and YOU know, that we aren't supposed to pick our noses.

But how did we learn this?

By our mother's telling us not to over and over again. So without further ado, for your reading enjoyment, part two of Nasal Talk with Kessa.

(setting: changing table in the midst of a cloth diaper change this AM in the Johnson home)
Me: Kessa, PLEASE don't pick your nose.
Kessa: But there's a cheesebooger and french fries up there!!!

Me:
Nothing. I stand there dumbfounded. Who am I to argue with free food?!?!? he! he!

In other news this little boy took a bad tumble this evening and had a nasty run in with the edge of the coffee table. He seems to be fine but when he went to bed it looked like the coffee table had definetly beaten the tar out of him. I'll try and get picks tomorrow. (because what self-respecting scrapper would skip a photo of a head injury?!)

And finally...some sneaks of the Scrap-Tastic June kit. I designed this kit and I'm having a BLAST playing with it!!!
