CASE'in

What's a "CASE" you ask?  In my little scrappy corner of the world it means "copy and share everything" and that's exactly what I did for this LO!

Over at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking we're having a fun SSU (SASsy Scrapbook University).  The classes are on defining your style and one of the assignments was to scrap-lift (or CASE) a LO that you had chosen in a previous class.  Well I chose this BEAUTIFUL LO by Mette:

I used a lot of the exact same products Mette used, but I was out of white cardstock, so I used a light gray color for my background.

The pictures are of my oldest on the 4-wheeler with my hubby...she was NOT a fan.

and but sure to stop back by tomorrow evening as I have lot of fun things to share!!!  :)

Patternless and Free!

Yup, that's right, I made my first "patternless" dress and I love the way it turned out!  When I say "patternless" I don't mean I just started chopping up my material and hoping for the best.  I had a dress from The Children's Place I really liked so I just used it to make my own pattern.  I pretty much just did it, but if you're not comfortable with that Dana over at Made has a great tutorial on making your own patterns.

I was also inspired by Sheri, of Soren Lorensen Design, to make the pocket and hood patchwork.

and a bunch more photos...because she's just so darn cute!

and some of the hood....

and a few more...because I really do exist!  ;)

The Johnson Girls!  :)

(and I promise...more scrappy stuff coming VERY soon!!! I don't just sew.  lol )

Growing Up

That's what Grace is doing on me.  It seems like it's all happened overnight.  I walked into her room Sunday afternoon and instead of finding my sweet baby laying down sleeping with her kitty...

I found this....

one big girl standing up in her crib...

and looking VERY proud of herself!

and that has just opened up a whole can of worms at naptime too I might add!  lol

I'm off to finish getting everything together...because my sweet Sister-in-Law asked me if I wanted the day off tomorrow (ie...she's watching ALL three of my children!)  Thank you Michelle!!!

Swagger Wagon Addict

If you remember a few days ago I posted this video that had me quite amused.  This morning when the hubs was at the computer Kessa went up to him and asked if she could watch "Where My Kids At?"  We both thought that was rather funny as she's seen it maybe twice before...so he played it for her...and then she wanted to watch it again...and again...and then for the rest of the day I was cracking up as I kept hearing this:  (sorry it's sideways, today's the first day I've even been able to get videos OFF my camera so I'll take what I can get!  lol)

(and I do have lots of sewing and scrappy stuff to share, but it's going to have to wait!  Night night.  :)

Lovin' the Sass'

A few weeks ago for the National Scrapbooking Day celebration there was a crop at SAS (Scrap Attack Scrapbooking) and on for one of the challenges we had to answer some questions (like what shapes we liked using, how many pictures, etc) and then we had to do a LO based on the answers of the person before us.  The ever sweet Sherri was before me and I got to use her answers.

Umm...have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE the Sassafras Monstrosities line?  So so cute!!!!

and goodness, doesn't the little dude look LITTLE?!  These pictures are from last summer.

Sweet, Girly, {SAS}sy!

Scrap Attack Scrapbooking always seems to put together an amazing kit, but this month was different.  This month, Lauri put together TWO amazing kits!!!  Wanna see them?

The first one features Scrap Within Reach's Cambridge line as well as a lot of other yummies!

and second kit I had the pleasure of working with.  It features Crate Paper's Pink Plum line and is SOOO girly and pretty and fun!  I did manage to squeak out one boy LO with this kit too!  :)

and here's what I did with it:

(this LO is still waiting on pictures of me.  There is hidden journaling tucked behind the photo mat)

and I've still got more left!!!  This is one packed full kit and so fun too!  :)

Blue...

Ya know how everyone has a color that they just look amazing in?  Well my little girl is like that in all colors (*wink wink*) but blue REALLY makes her eyes look amazing.

I did this LO for a {SAS}sy challenge to use stamps to make a boarder.

Celebrate...

Chocolate!

Ezekiel was in heaven when I let him dig into his chocolate Easter bunny this year.  He's celebrating chocolate, but I'm celebrating life with him.  It couldn't get any better than life with my sweet hubby and crazy fun littles.

I thought these pictures were perfect for SMR Sticker's Celebrate Life contest, so I'm entering them!  lol

and, as you can see, I FINALLY got some of Lily Bee's Hello Sunshine papers and I LOVE them!!!  Love love love!!!  (I picked mine up at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking for a great price if you feel the need to get some too! ;)

Mean Gel-Mold

Have you seen this?  Crazy funny, imho!

All My Bags Are Packed...

and my hubby is blessing me with a day off tomorrow!!!  My mom and I are going to a 12 hour Crop for Life tomorrow and I couldn't be more ready for some R&R.  I should come back with lots of fun things to share with you, but for now, how about some projects from my Guest Design spot at Back Porch Memories?

I used an exclusive Pagemaps sketch that will be in an upcoming BPM's newsletter for this LO.

goodness...doesn't my little guy look SO little?!?  These pictures are about a year old.

I've got more to share, but right now I'm off to get rested up for my crop!  :)  Happy weekend!

I'm {SAS}sy!

Well I'm sure if you asked my husband he'd tell you it was true...but that's not what I mean.  I mean that I have had the honor of being asked to be part of the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking design team!  I thought and prayed a lot before trying out for this team...but I really love the site.  Lauri, the owner, is so kind and there are so many fun challenges to keep the creative juices flowing.  I'm very excited to be part of this amazing team!!!  Here are some of the LOs I submitted for with my DT application.

Kessa

What's that you say?  You want more pictures?  Of me?  Of course we must oblige!  What do you think of my dress?
This is the first Sienna Dress my mommy made for me.

It's from a shirt she got on a mission trip and it says "No False Idols Here."  Don't you love the colors?

I didn't like it at first, but now I do.

I'm also starting to enjoy letting mommy take my picture sometimes!!!  Especially if we get to swing in the middle of the photo shoot!!

Isn't that patch on the bottom of my dress the best?  It was the back logo from the t-shirt mommy used.  Ok, I'm off for now.  It's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY past my bedtime and mommy won't be happy if she finds me still up.  Have a great week!

My Friends Over You

New Found Glory has been one of my favorite bands for a LONG time.  I still enjoy their music although I don't listen to it incessantly like I used to.  ;)  When I found a NFG shirt at goodwill I knew I had to snag it and make a shirt for my little guy.  He's a music fiend.  Loves all things guitar...including this shirt.  "I wear my guitar shirt!  I wear my guitar shirt!"

I used the Recycled T-shirt Hoodie Pattern by Lil' Blue Boo to make this shirt.  It's actually been made and he's been wearing for quite a while but I just got around to getting decent photos yesterday.

It's hard to believe with as cold as it is today that I took these pictures yesterday while we were at the park sweating!

8 Days a Week

Just thought I'd pop in and share another LO from the National Scrapbooking Day Crop I participated in at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking.  For this LO I had to use only black and white photos, a song title for my title, a patterned paper background, staples, and it had to be monochromatic.  So...after much struggling...this is what I came up with.  And I like it!  I was inspired to go with a Beatles song since Zeke's wearing his upcycled Beatles shirt in the pictures.   Oh!  And I had to use a large monogram too.

Lessons from Cinderella

AKA - over-thinking fairy tails

Sometimes I wonder if I put too much thought into what I do and don't let the kids watch.  Most of the time I know I don't.  I want to be very intentional about how I raise them.  I want to raise the girls to be godly women, to be wives someday.  I want them to know that they're princesses and should be treated the way Christ treats the church,

but at the same time I don't want them to go into marriage thinking it's a fairy-tail.  I don't want them to spend all their singleness day-dreaming about who their perfect guy is.

So, after all those thoughts...I decided that Cinderella was ok for them to watch .... (over...and over...and over again!)

I mean, Cinderella ISN'T just waiting around for Prince Charming.  She's working hard.  She's kind and compassionate.  She's hopeful and serves others...and she does all of this...with a happy heart!
(I'm pretty sure she's saved because there's no way she could do all that without Christ!  lol)

I did this LO for a NSD challenge at SAS (and can I just say, purple?  Ugh.  I like this page...but purple is just WEIRD to scrap with.  Gonna have to be more careful about what the girls wear! heheh!)

P.S. What do you think of the new look?  Too much?  Or just right?  I'm psyched about spring and summer!

Just for Kicks..

because this song amuses me to no end (sorry if it offends anyone...)
