Homemade Treats

and these Homemade Treats won't pack on the pounds (which is good for all of us after the holidays!  lol)

The kit from Color Me Daisy this month is just yummy!  I got all the alpha add ons this month too.  I'm a sucker for tiny alphas and I just loved the font of the green Thickers.

And here's one of the LOs I've done with is so far...

(based on a sketch from Pencil Lines)
I found these pictures of Kessa when she was 1 the other day and just had to scrap them!

I added stickles and Kaiser pearls to the BG Nook and Pantry flowers in the kit.

I did my journaling around the circles at the bottom of the page after I distressed them.

Party Time!

(Photo heavy)

He's 2.  As of 8:45am today the L'il Dude is TWO.  (however if you ask him how old he is he always says 6.)  We had a small shindig here this morning with my DH's family (if 2 sisters plus boyfriends, a brother and wife and son, and mom and dad, oh, and a married couple with their two kids is small that is...)

I decided to make Zeke a Taggie cake this year.  If you know him at all you know that his nasty, gross, smelly, football shaped lovie is like a fifth appendage so I thought it would be fun to pay it it's dues this year.  lol

We opened presents...I'm pretty sure he loved everything he got!  lol.  Tim and I got him some "frog" rain boots.  We usually try to get something that they'll like but is still useful too.

(Kessa looks so happy for her brother doesn't she?)
Pretty sure we succeeded.  He put them on right then and then didn't even want me to take them off to change his pants!  lol.

We had cupcakes too (because I don't know when to stop...)

and I even let Kessa and Zeke decorate some this morning before the party...

He danced in his chair the whole time we were singing Happy Birthday to him and then he blew out the candles!

We rounded out the morning playing and then Kessa and Zeke had a "picnic" on the living room floor (because it's stinking COLD outside people!!!)

(sorry the photos aren't as good as normal...I'm having issues with photoshop and my computer's memory so these are straight out of camera...I never do that!  lol)

Copycat

Yup, I'm not gonna lie.  I'm a copycat.  When I see a good idea I just have to try it for myself.

A while back I got a set of 5 pairs of BabyLegs on BabySteals...however neither of my girls had anything to match one of the pairs, so when I saw the onesie Virginia made for Arianna I knew that was the way to go for these BabyLegs too..and then low and behold the Holiday Hangover kit matched them perfectly!

So I got out my needle and thread and set to work.

(these were just taken today...isn't my girl such a cute chub?!?! )

Holiday Hangover

Yup, that's what a lot of us have isn't it?  It's also the name of the January kit at Scrap-Tastic.  It's got lots of bright and colorful goodies in it to help you over even the worst Holiday Hangover.

*On a side note, I know this is a bit of a "scrappy" blog that has been rather scrapless lately but fear not, I've been working on that and have lots to show you over the next few day and lots more to do to!*

Here are a few of the things I've done with the kit so far.

I made some "thank you" bag toppers for the workers in my daughter "Cubbie" class...there are 7 workers!  However, there are 45 to 50 preschoolers every wednesday night so they deserve a lot more than a little "Thank you!"  The stamps are by Stampin' Up.

and this is a 2 pager (but only 8x8) that I did for a circle journal about favorite Christmas memories.  I just LOVE stockings...they're so much a part of Christmas for me.  I loosely based this on a sketch by Julie Bonner.

(Virginia taught me how to make those super cute Christmas trees!)

And just a simple little page with a quote I adore about good books.

(I'm totally addicted to these tiny alphas!)

The Gift of gifts

This puritan prayer spoke volumes to me when I read it.  It is so perfect, it is my hearts cry to know and remember that in Him I have so much even heaven has nothing better to offer.

O Source of All Good,
What shal I render to thee for the Gift of gifts,
thine own dear Son, begotten, not created,
my redeemer, proxy, surety, substitute,
his self-emptying incomprehensible,
his infinity of love beyond the hearts grasp.
Herein is wonder of wonders:
he came below to raise me above,
was born like me that I might become like him.
Herein is love:
when I cannot rise to him he draws near to me on wings of grace,
to raise me to himself.
Herein is power:
when Deity and humanity were infinietly apart
he untied them in dissoluble unity, the uncreate and the created.
Herein is wisdom:
when I was undone, with no will to return to him,
and no intellect to devise recover,
he came, God-incarnet, to same me to the uttermost,
as man to die my death,
to shed satisfying blood on my behalf,
to work out a perfect righteousness for me.
O God, take me in spirit to the watchful shephers, and
enlarge my mind;
let me hear good tidings of great joy,
and hearing, believe, rejoice, praise, adore,
my conscience bathed in an ocean of repose,
my eyes uplifted to a reconciled Father;
place me with ox, ass, camel, goat,
to look with them upon my redeemer's face,
and in him account myself delivered from sin;
let me with Simeon clasp the new-born child to my heart,
embrace him with undying faith,
exulting that he is mine and I am his.
In him thou hast given me so much that heaven can give no more.

Merry CHRISTmas!
