More Scrappy Fun!

Ok, so I've been sooo busy it seems like, and I've barely left the house! lol. Anyway, I've been doing pretty good at getting at least one crafty thing done everyday. That's what I'm trying for. Also, I have a new goal, and the last three days I've accomplished it (that's how long I've had this new goal for...three days!) Anyway, I'm trying to make two cards everyday (identical.) One I send to someone, whether is a birthday or a thinking of you or just a SWAK (sending wishes and kindness) and the other one goes into my card stash, which before three days ago was virtually non-existant! This is a big challenge for me because I'm soooo a scrapper before a card-maker. However, its good to send out cards and encourage others in the Lord, so I'm trying to do that. Now...on to the scrappy fun!!!
This page is for Challenge 12 over at Journaling Junkie (www.journalingjunkie.blogspot.com) to use fortune cookies as your inspiration for journaling. These are pictures of DD, her cousin and grandmother. The chipboard I painted with MM purple paint then I swiped the "s" with close to cocoa ink. The "t" and "o" I sanded after I painted and then swiped with the ink. I also highlighted all of them with Stardust stickles. The title says "She loves to (eat play pretend sing wave dance slide run read giggle) Help." The fortune cookie strips say "Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence. H.L. Mencken" "We cannot do great things; only small things with great love. Mother Teresa" "Only love lets us see normal things in an extraordinary way." The sketch is from PencilLines. The sketch for this lo is also from PencilLines. I love these pictures of my kidlets! Hope you like the lo. I used corregated cardboard stamped on an ink pad for the journaling strip. The flower was actually terribly ugly. It was a weird tan color with brown spots all over, but since it was on clearance I figured...hey I can do SOMETHING with it! I ended up using MM SeaFoam paint on it and then kind of brushed it with stickles for some sparkle. I'm happy with how it turned out. Journaling above title reads "You are vibrant. You are sweet. You are cuddly. You are strong. You are blessings, you are friends. You are rowdy. You are fun. You are sugar & spice. You are snips & snails. You are sleepless nights and sibling fights. You are (title)" Journaling below picture reads "Kessa and Ezekiel - enjoying some morning tummy time. Feb. 2008

Multi-Tasking Mama

Ok, so I was a very bad blogger last week. I'm sorry. I'll try to do better. I apologize to all two of you reading this! ;) Anyway, while I didn't get any blogging done, I did get some scrappin done, so here is one of my pages!
I did this page for this week's sketch challenge over at Splitcoast. You can find it here. All the paper except for the brown circle is from a Wild Asparagus paper back. The brown paper is SU close to cocoa's pp. The rub-ons are from a Foof-a-La page kit and the epoxy alpha stickers are K and Co. Anyway, that's all for today. TTFN!

Sleeping Christians...

So I was reading the Girl Talk blog here today and I stumbled across this list of questions to ask yourself or others in order to do a sort of "self check" of your Christian walk. These are great questions to just spark edifying conversation with other sisters in Christ or to make sure you're on track and growing in grace as Paul prays that the Christians in Philippi will do. I just thought you all might like to check it out. I've spent most of my morning trying to get children to sleep (Mr. Zeke would NOT sleep in his bassinet this morning which isn't like him, but if I picked him up he would promptly konk out!) And he wakes again...guess I better go be a good mommy. TTFN!

Oh Scrappy Day!

Ok, so it wasn't really a whole scrappy day (I see none of those in my near future, although a girl can dream...) but I did get this cute LO done so I thought I would share it with you. I cased this lo from Tania who is part of the Lotus Paperie design team. Here is her page. It was part of the Scrapbook Diva Design Challenge 12 over on Splitcoast. It's a very fun challenge every week. Check it out here. The swirl stamps are by Autumn Leaves and the "Diva" I stamped with the "Billboard" alpha from the Riley line by Love, Elsie. It is embossed white on white even though you can't tell it in the photo too well. All of the PP except the striped piece is from The Stack 4. The striped piece is from SU Slumber Party paper pack which has been retired. The journaling reads: "Kessa, I LOVE this picture of you. You look so happy and carefree. You don't have a thought in the world but to enjoy life. I pray that you never lose that. I pray that you will find the ULTIMATE way to enjoy life is by serving our Savior. Never stop singing in the bathroom and always remember to enjoy the little things...like brushing your teeth! Love, Mom, Jan 2008"

PB & J Worship

No, this isn't the newest fad cd for "Christian" kids! This is something my friends and I ended up talking about Friday night when we all went and hung out at Starbucks. First, a little background. There were 7 of us "girls" and little Zeke came along for the ride too. Of the seven, all but one are married and of the 6 married of us only 2 don't have children (and 1 of those is pregnant!) So needless to say our talk involved our families and children. Oh, did I mention that all of us with children are stay at home moms? Our conversation was very diverse. We went from irrational fears of snakes and horses (?!) all the way to natural family planning and hit just about everything in between! lol, I think if anyone around us was listening in they probably got more than they bargained for. But now, on to the worship talk. In the middle of everything else we were talking about serving our families and our kids and one of the girls told us about something that had happened the week before. She was standing at the kitchen counter making lunch for her 2 year old son and it was like all of a sudden God told, "Megan, this is a time for worship." She was like, "what? No, I'm just making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich." But it was that much clearer, "Megan, THIS is a time for worshiping me." "But he's sitting at the table waiting God." Those are the moments to worship. Those are the times when we are serving God in the everyday mundane things. If we can and do worship God at those times our children will see that and worshiping God in EVERYTHING is going to be so much more natural to them. It would seem more foreign to them to not worship while we fold the laundry if that's what they saw when they were growing up. Plus, how much more satisfying will our lives be if we worship at those times?!?! And one last thing...if we can worship while we're cleaning the toilet...think what our worship on Sundays at church is going to be like?!?!?!
So, here's what I'm going to strive to do as God continues sanctifying me and teaching me to better worship. I'm going to start recording PB & J Worship moments whenever I post. I hope you'll joining me in remembering that EVERY moment is a moment made for worshiping. I'd love to hear what your PB & J Worship moments are, just leave me a comment!

Here's todays PB&J Worship...I was soo tired and Zeke decided he wanted to eat...again...for like the 3rd time in an hour. I didn't have a bad attitude, but I was just sitting there almost comatose as he nursed and God said, "This is it, worship me in this moment." It's amazing!!!

Some crafty stuff!

Ok, its only a day later than promised...but here is the last scrapbook lo I did and also a card.
swirl that is around the pictures from a piece of double sided SU close to cocoa paper. The bg paper is Wild Asperagus and the pp that is torn is from a page kit by Foof-a-la. I hand cut the swirl that is around the pictures from a piece of double sided SU close to cocoa paper. The epoxy sticker is by Love, Elsie (I'm falling in love with her stuff!) and the chipboard is by American Traditional Designs. The letter stickers are just some I've had in my stash forever, I have no idea what brand they are! lol. I used the basic brown SU journaler for all the doodling. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

Just a close up.

Ok, so I hardly ever make cards, but I really like the way this one turned out! The pp is all from The Stack 4. I used the swirl stamp from SU Priceless set and then embossed it on the tag. I just drew and then hand cut the card. I didn't have any heart shaped cards so I made my own.

Ok, come back tomorrow to hear all about my night out with the girls at Starbucks! We had some interesting and very edifying conversations, you're not gonna wanna miss the thoughts on worship if you're a mom. :D TTFN!
