Randomness

Just popping in to share a LO I did for the Design Experiment challenge this week. I don't clean or do things like that during nap time. Naptime is my time to indulge. I usually read my bible for a while and then scrap. My littles are super light sleepers, so its a good excuse to not do any housework! ;)

And check out this pack of goodies I got in the mail yesterday!! WOW! THANKS KERRYN!!

Juvenile Literature

Right now we're very much enjoying this book.
In fact we're enjoying it several times a day. I'm sure you all know how that is. Kessa's aunt bought it for her, but all this enjoyment and love for Corduroy started with a trip to the library when we happened to pick up this book.
We had that book from the library for like a month and a half or something! My just turned two year old can quote the ENTIRE book. She would sit there and read it to herself when she couldn't get anyone else to. :) Anyway, we're enjoying all things Corduroy at the Johnson household right now and I've been wanting to do this cute idea on something for Kessa for a while. Now I finally know what I'm going to do! She's got a purple sweatshirt type zip up jacket that I'm going to put Corduroy on the back of...and I'm thinking about a purple pocket on the sleeve! ;) Anyway, anyone have any ideas on where I could find a smallish piece of green corduroy? I really don't want to pay the price to get a new piece, but I can if I have to. I was thinking maybe I'd try goodwill. Anyone else have any ideas?

Some Pretties

Just popping in to share a LO I finally finished. I LOVE these pictures of Kessa enjoying...a box. I used some lace binding I got a vintage store last week all over this page. The color was perfect! Another interesting little tidbit...the background paper is BG...Figgy Pudding to be exact! See, it's not just for x-mas!!
And a card I made with some of the scraps from the LO. The script is a Fancy Pants rub-on and the stamps are Autumn Leaves Swirls V. 2...something I'm VERY addicted to right now.

Stuff

So...I don't really like this card and I'm going to make another one! lol.

On a different note, a few people asked to see my homemade "clip it up" on another site so I figured I'd just post it here. DH hung it up for me. VERY simple. We just got a curtain rod and then some curtain rings, put binder clips on the rings and viola! It was done. I LOVE having right in front of me.
(sorry about the mess! I didn't clean before I took the pics! lol)

Weekend Creating

I've been cropping over at A Million Memories this weekend. They've got some fab. prizes up for grabs...I already won this playing bingo! Yea!! :) Anyway, here's the stuff I got done this weekend. I'm pretty happy with all of it...except maybe the U Make Me Smile LO...it's not that I don't like it, I was just trying to do something that isn't my style and I think you can tell! lol. This top one was a sketch challenge.
Next was a challenge to make a card with the leftovers from the LO you made.
Here's the LO. ARGH! I don't know why blogger flips stuff sometimes! Sorry. And this one I was trying my hand at white space just to see if I could. lol. I'll stick to my junked up grungy pages in the future I think!

Scrappy Time

Just realized I hadn't put some of these up so I thought I'd post some stuff I've done lately. Everything but the Christmas cards are using mostly items from this month's Addicted Scrappers kit. (it was full of Pink Paislee goodness!!!)

(this is my SIL's planner I altered for her.)

Gearing up for ITLAPD

That's right...here at Theology, Scrappin' and Cheerios we're getting ready for International Talk Like a Pirate Day (Sept 19 in case you somehow got gypped on by your planner and they forgot this day of utmost importance!!!!) Stayed tuned for some fun crafty piraty stuff...and as I little teaser I'll share my Pirate Name.

My pirate name is:

Mad Anne Bonney

Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

I've been Tagged...

By Jessica.

Here are the rules: 1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog. 2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird. 3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs. 4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. So here it goes:

1. I am, at this very moment, eating ice cream and apple crisp.

2. My best girlfriend lives in DC and I only get to see her three or so times a year (if we're lucky!) Miss you Kirsten!!!

3. My husband doesn't make nearly as much fun of me for "competitive scrapbooking" since I started winning free stuff!! (check out Scrapping for Less if you want in on all the great drawings!)

4. I'm seriously worried I won't be able to come up with 7 people to tag at the end of this thing!

5. I'm doing a Kay Arthur study on the names of God and I just finished studying about "El Roi" I laugh every time I see that one because I always think ElRoy!! (God is just a good ol' boy?!?!?) Sorry, I'm not trying to be sacrilegious, just honest! lol

6. I was homeschooled k-12 minus 2. I went to public school my freshman and sophmore years and then opted to go back home.

7. I hope God blesses us with more little people.

Ok, I'm going to tag...Gina @ Tyggereye Art, Kimberly, Nikki, Ivon, Marti, ok, I'm tired of this...too much work...not enough friends! lol

A Year's Time

sure has changed my scrapping style!!!! Check out these lo's I did for a DT call a year ago...not bad...but certainly not up to par now! lol
This "Silly Girls" lo was my first ever attempt at doodling!
This one's cute, but looking at it now I can see so much more that could have been done to make it better.
And "Just the 3 of us"...I don't even know! lol...all I can think is, umm...I was prego in that pic...it was REALLY the 4 of us!

(Ok, that was the fun comparison I promised a while back...sorry for the big let down! ;)

Beauty

I used an August PageMap for the starting point of this LO. I just adore this picture of Kessa. It was taken by my SIL while we were in Virgina last month. A lot of the products in this LO are from the September Addicted Scrappers kit.

I had to use the back of this piece of grungeboard because of the direction I wanted it facing, but it still worked out well! I covered it with pink stickles and then rubbed a PP rub on onto a transparency and popped it up over the flourish.

This stamp was also done on a transparency and then popped up. Its from Autumn Leaves Gypsy Style set. The swirls are from AL's Swirls V.2 set. After I stamped the heart I sprinkled SU dazzling diamonds over the wet ink. (on a side note I used AL new ink that's made especially for clear stamps and I LOVE that stuff!!!)
And finally, more stickles and AL stamps! The poem I tore out of an old book and then inked and altered the title from On Hearing a Symphony of Beethoven to the one below.
BG paper is Bazzill shimmer paper and all the other pp is PP.

Paintables

Just popping in for a minute to share that Prima has a video tutorial up on their blog about Paintables! Good stuff. I' ll be back later with a funny compairison in my scrapping! TTFN!

Does This Make Me a Bad Parent?

*this post was started on Friday...due to Life with Littles it did not get posted until...now*

wow...first off I didn't realize it had been so long since I'd blogged! Sorry about that!!! Anyway...funny story from this morning...I was here...checking my e-mail and such. Kessa had eaten breakfast already, but Zeke hadn't as he had only been up for a few minutes. He was happily playing on the bedroom floor and I could hear Kessa getting a bowl and spoon out of her cabinet and mumbling about feeding Zekiel but I thought nothing of it...until...I walked into the kitchen and this greeted my eyes!!! As soon as Kessa saw me she said, "Mommy get Zekiel! I feel Zekiel!" The most amazing part was how little of the food and formula ended up on the table and floor! So after getting over my shock, I got a more um..."managable" about of food in his bowl and did indeed let her feed him. She was doing a good job and didn't want any help so I went and brushed my teeth...the whole time wondering..."Does it make me a bad parent that I'm in here brushing my teeth while my 2 year old feeds my 8 months old?"

Public Service Announcement

Sorry for the long break with no notice. We will be back to our regularly scheduled blogging today after church!!!
